Prior to starting orthodontic treatment, we take impressions or molds of your teeth, don’t worry we use flavoured material to do so! Some of our favourite flavours include: bubble-gum, strawberry, mint and pina colada, plus the material we use only remains in the mouth for a few seconds.
Traditionally, orthodontic offices pour plaster into your impressions to produce a plaster model of your teeth. Our office uses a newer technique, whereby we scan your impressions with computer software to produce a three dimensional, digital representation of your teeth.
This allows Dr. McManaman to view your ‘digital teeth’ more accurately. The software can be used to view your teeth from any angle imaginable; in addition, to allowing Dr. McManaman to zoom in on individual teeth in order to maximize diagnosis of your treatment and ultimately reduce the total time you have to wear braces and overall appointments required to finish treatment!
